Myra had her birthday on Saturday! She is now 6! We had a great day preparing our eggless chocolate cake, her favorite mac&cheese, Steak, & carrots dinner for our family celebration. Myra got to get some fun balloons and she decorated our dinning area for the perfect Myra style Party. She laid out a great party dress, a white button up sweater, sparkley high heel shoes, and white shoulder purse for the occassion. Luckily I was able to talk her out of wearing the nice dress ansomble to do all the baking. Myra asked us to all sit down before her, and wait for her to enter the room for dinner. She came up with this tradition all on her own. She must truly have royal blood.....or at least she thinks she does. After cake and dinner we opened Myra's gifts. Blaise was very excited to give her some new Troy and Gabriella dolls. The Party was a smashing success. WE all enjoy a good family party.
My brother Sam called me on a wed., March 4 to let me know that on Saturday, March 7th, he would be getting married to Dianne Beven, whom I hadn't yet laid eyes on. Now, I knew it would be coming, as they have been talking about wedding bells for sometime. I just didn't know that Russ would be able to find some sky miles and get me to Utah in the spur of the moment.... for cheap. It is a very long, but short story. Short in days, and long in happenings. The weekend was full of talk talk talking with everyone possible, shop shop shopping with mom, (boy does she look great in her new cloths), tears for joy and saddness, Lots of loud laughter, SISTERS, BROTHERS, deserts, big trucks, driving, singing, great dancin', music, serinades by brother, solo piano recitels by Gabe and by Lexie, cameras, guns--a LOT of guns, hugs, kisses, games, fun, freezing windy wind, cooking, junk food, Real food, Late Late nights of gigling, LOVE, generosity, early mornings, sleeplessness, and very happy memorable moments.................ooops, and of course, A WEDDING! I loved it. The two, very short days were filled with much that I enjoyed and needed. I really love my family.
The break for Christmas was very relaxing. I don't know what came over me. Not much, because most of the time none of the beds were made, and I am sad to say that almost never happens. I did a lot of sleeping and reading. We fit in some hiking, biking and other outdoor activities. i'll have to post a few of those pictures. I have to say that It was all pretty great. I did start to wonder when I would get my mo Jo back as I dropped the kids off for school. I slowly got back into my Miller Mom Groove. This week I went through almost every one of the drawers and closets, and organized the heck out of them. These few closets and drawers are my prime targets for shoving things when I have company, or whenever else I feel like not seeing all the clutter. "smile" Well, it is almost done. Russ spent the day trimming all the trees outside, so I think we are heading into a great new year.
Christmas Eve was spent with our good friends the Teuscher family re-enacting the Nativity. We did some singing, some eating and we ended up enjoying a rather quiet and sprit filled visit together.
Our Christmas day celebration was slow and wonderful. We really enjoyed our little nerds. Santa didn't wrap his gifts, so the kids play for a long time with all the new fun stuff. We baked Gingers famous muffins and ran them around to the neighbors. We got to nap and shower, then round 2 began with the gifts from grandparents, and all the other packages we were blessed with this year. The kids loved their gifts, we loved setting them out, and preparing for the day. Around 2pm we stuck that turkey in the oven and relaxed till he was cooked. Our friends Jill and Jay came for dinner, and we ended the day with a few more nice memories.
We are so grateful for life and the people that fill our lives. Thank you to all that give to us and those that we get to give too. Happy New Year!
